[pccgrads] PCC Winter Seminar continues TODAY Tue 1/16! Bitz on "What is up with Antarctic sea ice?"

UW Program On Climate Change uwpcc at uw.edu
Tue Jan 16 11:12:17 PST 2018

*Join the PCC winter seminar as we explore major unanswered questions in
climate change research! *

We will consider such questions as: How much will Earth warm in the future?
Is it possible to limit warming to below 2C? How fast will sea levels rise
this century? Why has the Antarctic sea ice cover been growing over recent
decades? How will temperature and rainfall extremes change with global
warming? How will climate change impact humans and ecosystems?

*Please join us Tuesdays throughout Winter Quarter 2018 at 3:30 in OCN 425*

Next few seminars (please note the rearrangement with Jim Murray’s seminar
moved to Jan 30):
*Jan 16: What is up with Antarctic sea ice?*
Cecilia Bitz, UW Atmospheric Sciences and Program on Climate Change Director

*Jan 23: How important is climate variability for historical and future
Robert Wills, UW Atmospheric Sciences

*Jan 30: Atmospheric CO2 scenarios: an unappreciated uncertainty in climate
Jim Murray, UW Oceanography

Organized by Kyle Armour, Atmos/Ocean
