(Winter 2018)

Hello,

I am excited to announce that Pacific Science Center is currently accepting
applications for the Winter 2018 *Polar Science Cohort* of the Pacific
Science Center Science Communication Fellowship program. This prestigious
program has been training local researchers, engineers, and other
STEM-field professionals in effective outreach and science communication
for almost a decade. Accepted applicants will receive professional
development in effective public engagement with science through Pacific
Science Center’s intensive Science Communication Course. Fellows will also
develop a live-narrated show about their work with individualized coaching
from science center staff and will have ongoing opportunities to interact
with the public at outreach events at Pacific Science Center.

The application deadline is Thursday, January 4, 2018. A flyer about the
Fellowship and the application form are both attached, and will soon be
available on our website, www.pacsci.org/fellowship. Please see the
application for details about the workshop schedule.

Tuition and other program costs for this cohort are funded by support from
the National Science Foundation for the development of live-narrated polar
science shows. Due to this funding arrangement, *only those whose work
relates to polar science* will be considered for acceptance. If your work
does not relate to polar science, please wait to apply for our Spring 2018
cohort, for which the application will be available in early February 2018.

Let me know if you have any questions about this opportunity, and please
help spread the word to any interested colleagues!

Best,

Liz
