[pccgrads] K-12 Climate/Science Curriculum Development Session with College of Ed-pls indicate availability next week! (RSVP by Wed 5/3)

Hi all-

Our K-12 Climate/Science Curriculum Development Session with Mark Windschitl from the College of Ed will be Monday at 3 (Apologies to the two students that responded to the poll that couldn’t make it on Monday).

I’m working on location at the moment and will email those that are joining with final details.

A little glitch…my original poll didn’t have a space for email or name, so the first few of you who responded left no trace of who you were (my bad).

So, you probably know who you are…please email me that you are joining and I’ll include you in the final email with the location. Also, we can accommodate a few more, if you are interested, or are friends with someone who does K-12 classroom outreach who is interested, let me know.

Hello PCC Grads, particularly those considering doing a GCeCS <https://pcc.uw.edu/education/graduate-certificate/> capstone project that includes developing K-12 curriculum ….

We have the opportunity of getting a head start on the learning curve associated with developing content for the classroom.

Mark Windschitl, (Professor in the College of Education with a specialty in Science Education, see his project <http://ambitiousscienceteaching.org/> AmbitiousScienceTeaching.Org), is offering you a session on general principles for putting together educational content, and how to address the next generation science standards ( <https://www.nextgenscience.org/> NGSS).

For those of you would joined us for the GCeCS capstone session last month, you met Prof. Windschitl.

Please fill out the google form if you would like to participate:

This is a great opportunity, to both learn from an expert in education and curriculum development, and to connect with others in the PCC who would be working on curriculum.

Any thoughts or questions, don’t hesitate to ask!
