Hello fellow climate justice advocates:
As you may already know, the Clean Energy Transition Act will receive a
hearing on March 14 in the Environment Committee of the Washington State
House of Representatives! This bill puts our vision of a robust and just
clean energy economy into words and action. We want to make a big splash on
the day of the hearing. As someone who has chosen to be a leader in our
movement, I would especially like you to be there if you can make it. Your
dedication and involvement is what makes our coalition unique, powerful,
and beautiful. We have a full day of activities planned on March 14,
starting at 10:30 a.m. To look at the full schedule of events and RSVP, please
fill out this form.
Also, the Alliance for Jobs and Clean Energy is gearing up for a big push
for climate in 2017 and 2018, and we’re hiring. Please see the Field
Director job description here
and the Field Coordinator job here
We are hoping to get a good pool of applicants quickly, so please spread
these to your networks. And if you feel called to do so, apply!
I know the national news is difficult to follow. Federal climate change and
environmental justice programs are slated for elimination. But we, in
Washington state, offer a competing vision of a society that thrives on
innovation and the entrepreneurial spirit, and is grounded in the
principles of fairness and compassion. The March 14 hearing is a huge step
forward in our journey to realize this vision and I hope you can make it!
As always, let me know if you have any questions. Thank you for being a
strong advocate for climate justice.
