Science Network Workshop Series
Webinar: Making Science Matter in a "Post-Truth" World

Dear Miriam,

The UCS Science Network is excited to offer our first tool in 2017 for defending science under threat: a web-based training on how to communicate the value of science in policy in compelling ways—even to less science-friendly audiences.

After the election, there's been a lot of talk about living in a "post-truth" world. While the role of facts is being questioned by the Trump administration, we at the Union of Concerned Scientists believe that science is still a vital factor in informed decisionmaking. As scientists and experts, it is our responsibility to break through the scuttlebutt and communicate with skeptical audiences to help build awareness and demand for science-based decisionmaking for policies regarding our health and safety. And, in this new political era, the stakes are even higher.

Join our webinar to learn about new and innovative ways to reframe the discussion. Learn how to focus on the facts and not opinions and assumptions in ways that may open the door to a productive conversation.
