Hi PCC grads,

As many of you know, the new graduate student representative to the PCC
board is traditionally announced at the Summer Institute, coming up Sept.
15-17, so it is time to consider who will succeed me in this position for

I have enjoyed representing you this past year, and your input has been
very important through the 10-year review process that was just completed.
Next year's representative will have the opportunity to share student input
as the board decides on the future direction of the PCC based on the
recommendations from the review process. The only official responsibility
of the student rep is to attend quarterly board meetings and offer the
opinions of the students, take notes, and disseminate them to this list.
However, you also serve as the point person for communication between the
students and Miriam, LuAnne and the rest of the board, and can use the
opportunity to plan PCC social events, organize recruitment of new students
to get involved in PCC activities, and advocate for any PCC student

You can either volunteer yourself or nominate someone you think would be
good for the job. Please send all nominations to me by August 15th. If
there are multiple interested nominees, they will submit written statements
and be democratically elected through an online vote.
