Below you will find important information about graduating senior priority (GSP) and winter quarter course offerings and registration tips.



Are you planning to graduate summer quarter 2024 or sooner?  If you are and have not yet applied for graduation, visit https://math.washington.edu/graduation-commencement-information.  To register on Friday, NOV 3 with GSP, eligible students must email their graduation application request to our office no later than 4pm, Monday, October 30th.

MATH MAJOR REGISTRATION INFORMATION:


MATH 327 - Real Analysis: required for BS option majors or majors who plan to take MATH 340, 408, 424, 427, 441, and recommended for students who plan to take MATH 342 Art of Problem Solving (AUT); prerequisite: MATH 300 with a 2.0 or higher grade


MATH 381 - Discrete Mathematical Modeling  TIP! Register during period I, will fill quickly during period II.


Period I    MATH, ACMS majors only; Seniors, Juniors, Sophomores only

Period II    Open to all majors; Seniors, Juniors only      
Period III   MATH, ACMS majors only; Seniors, Juniors only


MATH 407*/408** - Optimization: Enrollment will be split between Math and ACMS majors, and will likely fill with graduating seniors. All sections will be open to both MATH and ACMS majors on WED, NOV 15 at approximately 9am.


Math 407 A - ACMS majors only & Seniors, Juniors only  period 1
Math 407 B - MATH majors only Seniors, Juniors only period 1

*MATH 407 will only be open to seniors during registration period II & III.

Math 408 A - ACMS priority period 1
Math 408 B - MATH priority period 1

**Prerequisite: minimum grade of 2.0 in MATH 407 or MATH 464, and MATH 327 or MATH 334.

MATH/STAT 491 Intro to Stochastic Processes - offered winter 2024, but MATH/STAT 492 will not be offered during the 2023-2024 academic year


MATH/STAT 493 Stochastic Calculus for Option Pricing - offered SPR QTR 2024; can be taken with MATH/STAT 491 to compete a 2-quarter math sequence
