Dear Math Majors,

Happy new year! We hope you had a great winter break and are ready for winter quarter. We are making an effort to reduce the number of emails you receive from our office. We do receive a lot of announcements and have been posting those here: https://uwmathandacms.wordpress.com/blog/

Math Day volunteers needed
On hiatus since 2019, Math Day is back! Math Day takes place on Monday, March 20, 2023 (the Monday of spring break). 1,500 students from across Washington State visit UW to attend math talks. We need many, many volunteers to make this event happen. Volunteers help students navigate campus, assist with lectures and other activities happening. No experience necessary and you don't have to be a math major. Invite your friends to join! Interested? Email Jonah Ostroff (ostroff at math.washington.edu). Survey about grad school application process

We are requesting your participation in a survey on the graduate school application process in a National Science Foundation funded research project called the Undergraduate Knowledge of the Mathematics Graduate School Application Process (Knowledge-GAP, NSF Award # 2126018). We are looking for math majors or other students interested in graduate school in mathematics to fill out the survey accessed via the link below. This survey takes approximately 20 minutes and will ask you what you know about the graduate school application process and your interest in attending graduate school in mathematics. Participation in this is completely voluntary. We will make every effort to ensure the confidentiality of your responses.
