Dear students,

Are you a female or non-binary undergraduate thinking about pursuing a PhD
in math? Please consider applying
<https://www.mathprograms.org/db/programs/1296> to GROW (Graduate Research
Opportunities for Women) 2022 <https://sites.duke.edu/grow2022/>, to be
held at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina from Friday October 21 –
Sunday October 23.

GROW is an annual national conference aimed at increasing the rate of
applications by women (cis-gendered, transgendered, or woman-identified)
and non-binary students to graduate programs in the mathematical sciences,
recently honored as an AMS “program that makes a difference”
<https://www.ams.org/journals/notices/202005/rnoti-p722.pdf>. We have
an outstanding
lineup of speakers <https://sites.duke.edu/grow2022/> and panels planned, along
with informal opportunities for conversation and mentorship. The conference
is *free* for accepted participants: we will reimburse travel expenses and
provide accommodation and meals.

The GROW 2022 <https://sites.duke.edu/grow2022/> application
<https://www.mathprograms.org/db/programs/1296> is short, consisting only
of a few demographic questions, a brief statement of interest, an
unofficial transcript, and a letter of recommendation. *The final
application deadline is September 1,* *but we recommend applying as soon as
possible, as we will begin reviewing applications on August 1.*

Please contact us at grow at math.duke.edu with any questions.

Sincerely,

Shira Viel
