Information about this year's conference has been posted and will be updated at https://ymc.osu.edu/ # ABOUT YMC 2022 YMC is an annual conference for undergraduate research in mathematics for students in REUs and similar programs around the country. Successful applicants are invited /with full travel support/ to present their research and interact with peer and senior participants. Invitations to YMC are competitive due to limited space and budget. We expect to invite and fully support around seventy student presenters, and hope to be able to provide partial support for accompanying mentors who are also invited to apply. # APPLICATIONS ARE NOW OPEN In order to apply please visit https://ymc.math.osu.edu/2022/apply.php and carefully follow all instructions. Applicants are strongly encouraged to read the applicant resources in order to improve their submitted abstracts. The deadline for applications is the end of June (Eastern time). The review of applications by a panel of mathematics faculty will start immediately after this deadline. We expect to make decisions on the bulk of invitations by July 10. # SPECIAL EVENTS Besides the student presentations, we are delighted to have the following distinguished speakers to deliver plenary talks at YMC 2022: Jeff Diller (Norte Dame University) Julia Plavnik (Indiana University) Isabel Vogt (Brown University) As in previous years we will have our "Graduate School Orientation" event with invited representatives from several different US graduate programs in mathematics. At this popular venue questions ranging from choices of schools, nuts and bolts of applications, and what life is like as a grad student are discussed. As usual, we will provide many opportunities for interaction between junior and senior conference participants. # JUDGING Applications will be judged and scored after the submission deadline by a panel of mathematics faculty so that we expect most decisions to be available by July 10. More info on the selection process, including tips for writing abstracts, is available during the application process. ## Judges Wanted If you are interested in undergraduate research, hold a mathematics Ph.D. (preferably faculty position), have 5 or so hours' time and internet access in the days following the deadline, and would like to help with judging please email us at ymc@math.osu.edu The conference is supported by NSF Grant DMS-1916606, Ohio State Department of Mathematics, Ohio State Mathematical Research Institute and the College of Arts and Sciences. My name is Leah and I am the Administrative Coordinator at AoPS Academy Bellevue , a grades 2-12 math and language arts academy. I am reaching out because we are currently growing our math program and looking for part-time math instructors . We offer flexible after-school, evening, and weekend enrichment classes for math and language arts. Our classes are in-person and meet once per week for 1 hr 45 min throughout the school year (September-June,) and most of our instructors teach 1-3 classes per week. The students who apply to our program are motivated, eager learners who are up for a challenge. Classes are small, with a cap of 16 students. The rate of pay is $110 per class session. Class plans are pre-made, so there is no lesson planning on your part - only preparation of the content. There is no grading of homework, only exams at the end of each academic quarter, for which there is additional compensation. Please email me at lsiff@aopsacademy if you are interested in discussing this opportunity. We can set up a time to chat over the phone or over Zoom/Google Meet.
