Dear Colleagues ,
We invite mini-track proposals for our track, Digital Government- Transforming the Future, at AMCIS 2026, Reno, Nevada, Aug 20-22, 2026
Track description
Current political, economic, social, and environmental issues present a formidable challenge to governments across the world as they navigate the complex and interconnected world. Managing global issues of immigration, geopolitical tensions, or pandemics requires collaboration and innovative governance. By embracing digital technologies, over years, governments have become more transparent, efficient, and responsive to citizen's needs. The emergence of technologies such as cloud computing, big data analytics, blockchain, and artificial intelligence is paving the way to not only streamline administrative processes but also provide personalized services to citizens. Many of these technologies have the potential to address the issues of economic inequality, social disparities, or rapid changes in the labor markets. However, the rapid advancement of these technologies also highlights the need to develop appropriate regulatory frameworks especially in areas like artificial intelligence, data privacy, and digital currencies. By focusing on inclusive governance, sustainable development, and resilience-building efforts, governments can use intelligent technologies to co-create value with its stakeholders in a rapidly evolving and complex world. This track welcomes research on the multiple dimensions of innovative transformations that intelligent technologies are heralding for governments of the future. We invite studies on the design, management, and implementation of intelligent technologies in the unique public sector setting that can help unearth the novel challenges that digital government research is facing. Papers that can combine methodological rigor with practical relevance are particularly welcome.
