Dear Marijn and Tomasz,
This is a special moment. And it is one to celebrate.
You were handed over a great journal of high reputation from the capable hands of previous editor-in-chief, John Bertot, and in the course of one decade of service you successfully managed to expand and broaden the scope, scale, and impact of GIQ even further. That is a remarkable accomplishment.
The journal stands tall in the domain of Digital Government Research.
But it also stands tall with regard to top journals in neighboring/overlapping study domains such as traditional Public Administration Research and Political Science. This is a success, which cannot be praised enough.
You are leaving huge footprints to fill.
I am wishing your successors Soon Ae Chun and Panos Panagiotopoulos the best of fortune and wisdom to continue and expand on the foundations, you and your predecessor have laid. The community, I am sure, is joining me in this wish. The support will be strong to see another decade of GIQ's growing academic impact.
I sincerely thank you for your great service to our research community. You truly left a mark. Congratulations to both of you!
Best wishes,
Jochen

Dear GIQ Associate Editors and Board Members,
Over the years, Government Information Quarterly (GIQ) has become the premier journal in the field. A continuous rise in the number of submissions, reaching around 800 this year, is one proof of this, but it posed a challenge to maintaining quality. With your help, the quality was not only maintained but was increased. Being open to different research methods, approaches, and application areas was another challenge and strength - it enabled GIQ to capture all kinds and aspects of government information research.
By 31.12.2024, we will complete our 10th year as Co-Editors-in-Chief of Government Information Quarterly. Consequently, we will be reaching the limits of our tenure according to the Elsevier policy and editorial good practice and stepping down from our roles. We will continue as Associate Editors.
It is our great pleasure to let you know that Panos Panagiotopoulos and Soon Ae Chun will become Co-Editors-in-Chief and take up the leadership of GIQ from 01.01.2025. They will
take over the whole portfolio so that your editorial and review responsibilities won't be affected by this change.
We would like to express our most sincere thanks to all of you for many years of fruitful collaboration and for dedicating your time, energy and talent to make GIQ what it is today - a leading international journal on technology, policy and governance. It was a pleasure and honour to serve as GIQ Co-Editors-in-Chief for the past 10 years. We thank Elsevier for the opportunity and trust and all of you for a great collaboration. We are very happy to leave the journal in the excellent care of Panos and Soon, and we look forward to continuing to work with all of you.
Many regards,
Marijn and Tomasz
