<b>John Choe</b>, associate professor (General Internal Medicine) will be our next program director of the Seattle Internal Medicine Residency Program, effective Sept. 1. He is currently the associate program director for curriculum development and evidence-based
medicine teaching for the IM Residency Program. <o:p></o:p></span></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="mso-bookmark:_Hlk35011064"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial",serif">Choe received his medical degree from New York University School of Medicine and completed his residency at the University of Pennsylvania.
He joined the UW in 2000 as a Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholar, and received a master’s degree from the UW School of Public Health.

communities, before pivoting to a focus on resident education in 2011. As associate program director, he has guided the didactic curriculum for the residency program and had key roles in developing the residency program evaluation system. He has been a national
leader in these areas, and for the past three years has served as an elected council member for the national Association of Program Directors in Internal Medicine.

to Dr. <b>Lisa Strate</b>, professor (Gastroenterology) who has been selected as the new Chief of Gastroenterology at the University of Wisconsin Madison. Strate began her academic career at Harvard Medical School before joining the University of Washington
in 2006. She has been Section Chief of Gastroenterology at Harborview Medical Center since 2018. She is an internationally recognized gastroenterologist and physician-scientist, known for her work in mechanisms and risk factors for diverticular disease.

(CRC). The Big Ten CRC, established in 2013, combines the cancer centers of the Big Ten Conference to conduct multi-institutional research led by clinical and scientific researchers at member institutions.
