is a shortage of physician scientists who are trained to apply genomics to the care of adult patients and are able to implement genomics in the health care system. To address this need, the Department of Medicine has received approval from the American Board
of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics to create a 4-year combined residency program leading to dual board-eligibility in both specialties. The goal of the combined Internal Medicine-Medical Genetics and Genomics (IM-MGG)
training program is to achieve competency in both specialties and specific expertise in areas common to both specialties.<o:p></o:p></span></span></p>
