 the past three years, Dr. <b>Barak Gaster</b>, professor (General Internal Medicine) has led a team to design, build, and launch UW Medicine’s Cognition in Primary Care Program. The program’s goal is to provide education and tools to help primary care providers

 (PCPs) evaluate and manage cognitive impairment in the primary care setting. Supported by funding from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the program is now available at all primary care clinics at UW Medicine, where more than 100 PCPs have completed

 she is a primary care provider at the UWMC-General Internal Medicine Clinic (Roosevelt Clinic) and is the former director of the Clinician-Educator Pathway for the IM Residency Program. Dr. Berger has served as College Faculty in Cascade College for 5 years

 and is particularly interested in professional identity formation and mentorship, from early learners to faculty.

 disease researchers from the UW Schools of Medicine and Pharmacy will use a multimillion-dollar federal grant from the NIH National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) to advance drug-development platforms that would reduce reliance on animal

 tests in the production of future medications. Their research aims to finalize multiple kidney-tissue platforms for drug testing, and submit those platforms to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for approval.<o:p></o:p></span></span></p>
