Research news
Cardiovascular Health Study renewed

Bruce Psaty, professor, and James Floyd, professor (General Internal Medicine) were awarded a $4.1 million grant to continue the Cardiovascular Health Study (CHS) for another three years. CHS is a is a prospective cohort study of cardiovascular disease among adults aged 65 years or older from 4 U.S. communities, originally recruited in 1989.

Drs. Connie Celum, professor, Lawrence Corey, professor, and Jairam Lingappa, professor (Allergy and Infectious Diseases) are co-authors of "Pre-HIV α4β7hi CD4+ T cells and HIV risk among heterosexual individuals in Africa<https://bit.ly/4fxjeqt>" in the Journal of Infectious Diseases.

Dr. Alan Chait, professor emeritus (Metabolism, Endocrinology and Nutrition) is co-author of "Development and validation of clinical criteria to identify familial chylomicronemia syndrome (FCS) in North America<https://bit.ly/49TpzeB>" in the Journal of Clinical Lipidology.
