<div style="margin:0px" class="ContentPasted0"><b><i><u class="ContentPasted0">WE ARE LOOKING FOR SPEAKERS</u></i></b><span class="ContentPasted0"> </span>for Husky Math Talks, which is the Husky Math Club's regular (weekly or bi-weekly) lecture series of 30
min-1 hour talks in mathematics, targeted towards a general undergraduate (all class years - first year to senior) audience.</div>

<div style="margin:0px" class="ContentPasted0">Registration is open to undergraduates of all class years, graduate students, post-doctoral scholars, lecturers, professors, alumni, and industry professionals, especially in research- or mathematics-adjacent positions. </div>
<div style="margin:0px"><br class="ContentPasted0">
</div>
<div style="margin:0px" class="ContentPasted0">Talks can be about your own original research, exposition of interesting bits of mathematics (anything from a new way of thinking about calculus concepts, to an exposition of a new research paper you found written
by someone else), and/or careers, research opportunities, and internships for mathematics students.</div>

<div style="margin:0px" class="ContentPasted0">Some previous topics have been: </div>

<li class="ContentPasted0">an introduction to coordinate-free linear algebra (by a high school senior who is now a first-year undergrad at Carnegie Mellon)</li><li class="ContentPasted0">original undergraduate research on machine-learning-informed elevator optimization, with an aside to How To Do Undergraduate Research Without A Faculty Mentor (by a senior at UW)</li><li class="ContentPasted0">original undergraduate research on Waring's problem on Cantor sets (by a senior at UW who is now a PhD student at Carnegie Mellon)</li><li class="ContentPasted0">an introduction to Grothendieck's dessin's d'enfants and Belyi's theorem (by a senior at UW)</li><li class="ContentPasted0">a workshop on getting industry internships as a Mathematics major (by a junior at UW)</li></ul>
